PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Honoring Medicine Together!

As the newly-elected President of SSVMS, I’m thrilled to step into this role and continue our work in advancing medicine and supporting our community of physicians. The work done by my predecessors, most recently Vanessa Walker, DO, has made SSVMS one of the premier medical societies in the country and I look forward to advancing that legacy further.

I’m excited to kick off the year by inviting you to SSVMS’s signature event celebrating the heart of our profession: SSVMS Honors Medicine.

Join us on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at The Center at 2300 in Sacramento for an evening of fine dining, wine, and an inspiring performance by the Sacramento Ballet Second Company. Most importantly, we’ll celebrate the remarkable achievements of this year’s honorees:

  • Golden Stethoscope Award: Laurie Gregg, MD
  • Community Impact Award: Jose Arévalo, MD
  • Outstanding Volunteer Award: Eric Williams, MD

This is more than an event – it’s a chance to connect with each other, celebrate our shared commitment to medicine, and leave inspired.

I look forward to seeing you there. Let’s make this an unforgettable evening together!

SSVMS members can attend at no cost. Non-members and guests are $75.

Thank you!
